The Handmaids tale

* * *  1/2

Offred is nothing more than an instrument of procreation for the Commander and his wife. It hasn’t always been this way. She remembers before, when she was happy, when she had a family. Now, life will never be the same and she has to stay alive if only to see her daughter again.

This is the second book I have read from Margaret Atwood. I have to say she is becoming a favorite author of mine. Her books so far are really original and I adore her writing.

Not much happens in this book. It is a back and forth story between the past and present. It is a horrible reality that the author has created.

It was an interesting book, even if not much happens in Offred reality, it was enough. I’m not quite sure how to describe it to tell you the truth, since I don’t want to give away too much.

Offred is a passive character who does as she is told, she doesn’t have a choice really because the consequences will be worst than death.

It is a really good book, not quite what I tought it would be, but still a really enjoyable read!

  1. You really make it seem so easy along with your presentation but I to find this topic to be really something which I believe I would by no means understand. It sort of feels too complicated and very vast for me. I’m taking a look forward in your next post, I’ll attempt to get the hold of it!
